Contract Signed for Construction of Distribution Pipe Network in Kuhlna, Bangladesh

On October 21, 2014 Bangladesh Office of CGC Pakistan Regional Company signed the contact with the employer, Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority(KWASA), for Construction of Distribution Pipe Network in Khulna, Bangladesh under loan from Asian Development Bank(ADB)

The bidding documents(Technical & Price Bid) were submitted on March 10, 2014 and the Technical Proposal was opened at the same day. The Commercial Proposal was opened on July 17, 2014 and we won the bid successfully. Having approved by ADB, Board of KWASA and Cabinet Committee on Governmental Purchase(CCGP), Bangladesh, the employer awarded the contract on October 14, 2014 with contract amount of USD 45.62 million. Financed by ADB loan, the main works of this project are construction of Khulna city domestic water distribution pipe network with total length of 654km of pipeline, of which 75 km of ductile iron pipes (diameter DN300 to DN700), 452km of HDPE pipes (diameter DN75 to DN160) and 127km of uPVC pipe(diameter DN200 to DN250), road crossing and railway crossing by pipe jacking construction in several places are involved and with completion period of 910 days and maintenance period of 365 days.

Construction of Distribution Pipe Network in Khulna, Bangladesh is the second water conservancy project that CGC Pakistan Regional Company has gained in Bangladesh after Construction of Clear Water Transmission Mains and River Crossing in Khulna, Bangladesh, of which contract signed on June 9, 2014 with contract amount of USD 28.34 million. With the same employer, KWASA and both financed by ADB loan, the construction areas of abovementioned two projects are in the same city of Khulna.
